In Presentation Primary George’s Hill we are striving to be a Restorative school. Restorative Practice is a values-based philosophy which honours the understanding that we are profoundly relational, interconnected and inherently good. It is both a philosophy and a set of skills. The Philosophy of Restorative Practice is rooted in respect for human beings and recognition of the importance of good relationships between people for human well-being and development. The understanding is that relationships can and should be restored when they have been harmed by conflict or wrongdoing.

Our teachers are being trained in Connect RP by the wonderful Michelle Stowe and this training is helping us to sustain strong, happy communities by actively developing good relationships, by preventing conflict and by resolving conflict in a healthy manner when it does arise. In PPS George’s Hill we are actively developing and maintaining good relationships, we foster kindness and respect in all of our teachings.

.

Our aim is to build positive relationships, create caring cultures and cultivate connected communities where students, staff, parents and guardians feel seen, where we can all flourish and where we co-create relational learning communities.
